Over 10 pounds a month is impressive! Jeannen must be disappointed to only have 2/3rds of her husband around. Just kidding, I’m sure you feel you have 4/3rds of the energy you used to have. Great job, keep it up!

On an aviation note, did the RNP training result in you doing more RNAV/GPS approaches? I would assume so rather than old school ILS with all it’s stepdowns. The point of RNP was to save fuel on arrivals correct? It’s just a thought I had while on an NDB the other day…

I’m still here. Lately, about all the updating I’ve been doing here, obviously, is the “Now Reading” list. I’m sort of at a loss for good material, I guess. Everything I want to write about is angry-political in nature lately and I’ve tried to keep all but the lightest politics off this page. I also don’t want to simply rehash and repeat news and content I find elsewhere (unless it pertains directly to me).

So I apologize for the lack of updates lately. The bug will hit me again, I imagine, so don’t let this blog fall out of your Google Reader!

Thanks. Glad you like it.

That one was shot with my little camera. It’s a Canon Powershot G9 that I’ve had now for a couple years. I chose it because it had a metal body (for durability) and could capture in RAW file format.

I don’t normally carry the DSLRs with me because of their bulk. But every now and then I’ll have a long overnight near something interesting, and in those cases I make room for the big camera by leaving something else at home.

That’s a beautiful shot.

Do you normally keep your ‘good’ camera with you when you fly? I would imagine that traveling light is a high priority for you. Even as a paying passenger, I often have to choose between the big camera bag or the lap top if I don’t want to have to check luggage.
