Absurd Airport Noise Restrictions…

The noise restrictions around airports throughout the country get more and more strict every year. But this article illustrates just how absurd they can get. Be sure to watch the video!

    Reminds me of a study done when residents protested a change at an aerodrome where I worked. It turns out that the noise level of children in the playground (the actual decibel level, not an average like at DIA) was higher than that of the landing and departing aircraft. The change was approved.

    If I was in charge at DIA, here’s what I’d do: as long as you *cannot* meet the noise restrictions and are going to pay fines anyway, I’d route as many flights as possible over a certain town at low altitude until they agreed to up the noise limit to something reasonable. Then, I’d move onto the next town…

    Lowflying 727s can be a powerful negotiating tool!

    Mind numbing. : ( The assault on KTEB is something I tend to watch closely…another airport under seige with bass ackwards rulings…
