Through a fisheye-lens…

Through a fisheye-lens, the world sure does look strange.

Well, in this case, I guess it looks “stranger.”

I knew I should have trimmed my nose-hair this morning…

I got the fisheye for my D-100 Nikon for a couple of reasons. First, it’s going to allow me to take some really astounding pictures of tomorrow’s Home Opener at Dodger Stadium. It will also allow me to take some very interesting photographs of airplane cockpits. This lens should be fun!

I finished my jury service last week. It took all of 45 minutes for us to come up with a unanimous verdict of “guilty.” We all thought that the defense witnesses’ testimonies sounded contrived and almost made up. The prosecution provided us with physical evidence that was very difficult to refute.

That’s the last time I do that (for the next twelve months). It was a real pain-in-the-ass.

Got a call from the very cheerful and wonderful Kim U. in the Southwest Airlines People Department today. She informed me that I shouldn’t make any big plans for May, as I will be finally heading out to Dallas to begin my training. She couldn’t give me a definite class date, yet. She did say that I’d definitely make the May 18th class, but there was also a strong possibility that I’d make the May 11th class, too. When I asked her if it was safe for me to put in my notice of resignation with my current company, she said, “Oh definitely!!”

So she sounds somewhat optimistic!

My last day at SkyWest is going to be May 1st. That will give them nearly three-weeks notice, and it will leave me some time to decompress and study a bit before I head to Dallas!

WAHOOO!!! The first day of the rest of my career is coming soon!

Good luck at LUV. I got a few friends that are pilots there. Sounds like if I was a pro pilot it would be the only airline I would want to be at.

Congrats Glenn, that’s very cool that you’ll be heading to LUV soon. Any idea where you’ll be based? I’m guessing you’re planning on commuting it.

Thanks, folks. I’ll commute for the first year to year-and-a-half, then we’re going to be moving to Phoenix, I think.

Ahh. Well, LAX-PHX isn’t a bad commute… between SWA and America West there are a ton of flights on that route. Do you happen to know whether SWA is gonna get on board with CASS anytime soon? A lot of our commuters (at Horizon) are waiting with bated breath – too many full flights PDX-BOI!
