There’s no place like Home…

April 13th, 2005 · No Comments

Well, there’s no place like my second home, anyway.

My second Opening Day at Dodger Stadium was yet another great time at the ballpark. It was beautiful and sunny all day, the temperature was in the mid 70′s, and there was a nice breeze blowing in from the Pacific Ocean all afternoon. You couldn’t ask for a better day to watch baseball!

Several ceremonies opened the day, including Dodger shortstop Cesar Izturis being awarded his first Gold Glove. We were treated to a show by the Navy Leapfrogs skydiving team and a fly-by of a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.

The game was quite the slugfest and came down to an exciting bottom-of-the-ninth inning where our Dodgers found themselves behind by 3 runs. After loading up the bases with a few hits and a few walks, our center fielder (Milton Bradley…yes that’s really his name) smacked a clutch two-out double to win the game. I feel sorry for all the fairweather fans that left the game after the seventh-inning. They didn’t get to see a really exciting come-from-behind win!

All the fun and excitement of going to Dodger Stadium is great, but there’s something else that makes it really special for me. I get to go watch baseball with my mom.

Thanks for buying this year, Ma! I love you!
